First of all you are most welcome in the world of planted tank.

Please clear your tank size 3X2X2 foot or inch.

No place of marine sand or coral sand or any other calcium leaching item in a planted tank.

You can use white sand or golden sand as decorative sand.

From where are you? You can contact to Partha (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=143) for decorative sand. ADA sands are very expensive.

I would suggest to read a proper plantation method.

Filling sand where you dont want to plant as not actually practical way to go for a "SEMI-Planted tank". Rather you use a bottom fertile layer then put a 1/2inch of sand on that.

Partha has one of the best collection of aquarium sand suitable for planted tank. a cheaper alternative would b to use Golden sand.
