rajeev- i have placed it carefully, and planted in such a way that it is shaded a major part of the day.since the beginning the water has been crystal clear.hair algae is visible in small bunches when i am lazy in water changes.i planted sufficiently initially.salvinia and banana lily did their job of covering the surface fast.

ishaan-maybe i will try a single small goldfish.
rajiv-i had put in about 10 mixed guppies, which were soon exceeding 50,and amazing colour combinations but they didnt survive the winter(my stupid mistake).this time i plan on putting guppies again and removing them to a spare tank in winter.

Hi discusfav,
Nice pond. What's your plan for winters? I have 2 redcaps that i am planning to give to some1 with a beautiful pond.

http://aquapetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=750

They've been with me for 4 years but i realize that it's not the best place for them perhaps - in the tank. The water hits 30C in the summers and the others are tropical fish so it's not a good combo. If you are interested, perhaps you could give them a better home.

my pond is small at the best suitable for one small goldfish of 1" for six months(because it will grow and i will need to shift it.).hence i prefer to keep snails and guppies only.
thanks
