Hi Guys,

I need your suggestion to buy couple of filters

A. 1 canister filter for a 120 ltr planted tank (SunSun looks quite economical in comparison to Eheim and some of their model comes with UV light, is it of any use & are they reliable)
B. 1 HOB for a 80ltr non planted tank (This is for my sister so need to be simple to operate & maintain)

Please mention model no#, source (price if available)

Is there anyone using DIY canister filter what are the result.

You can go for SUNSUN HW -302 this circulates 1000 LPH, it is good one or SUNSUN HW 303B It circulates 1400 LPH. HOB can be of Hagen or any chinese model which can circulate 500LPH.

I have seen some come with priming button, seems to be a nice to have feature, how important is that when consider price difference.

What happens when power go out , do I need to do priming each time?

It has to be primed just once when you start. After that if the light goes it mostly starts itself. Though I would always prefer a filter without a priming button as it can get messy when filling water to prime it.
