Neil, can you tell me what would happen if coconut water was dried in the sun? Would you get a powdery residue? Would you say that if made into balls and pushed under root-feeders like crypts, it might be like root tabs?

That would bypass the water column route, and the resultant milkiness and surface brown film, and make for a good eco-friendly fertilizer. ...
shall test this soon

but Tested on another way
some small chalk pieces , which absorbed coconut water and dried them under sunlight
finally placed as root tab

the chance of increasing hardness ,,, PH changes etc are hard nut to me
cos not learned botany since 10th standard
just bought some test kits and trying ...

let me try

@ Romi
The dried sugars would feed an explosion of anaerobic bacteria under the substrate. Nasty gas bubbles might follow.

If the 'sugars' were so encouraging of anaerobic bacteria, why wouldn't the 'nasty gas bubbles' happen with fresh coconut water bro? I am sure they are not like table sugar. They're different. If nothing else, the powder form would make them less potent since it would be buried in the gravel and not in contact with the water directly, as the fresh coconut water would be.

The freah coconut water will form gas bubbles if the gas is trapped as in under the substrate.

Sometimes when coconut water goes bad it forms a thick film on the top, first white and then brown. My guess is that it might be a "SCOBY" of sort as the fungus does develop later on. Gas accumulates under this till it lifts off the filmy layer and escapes.

Surprise surprise. Coconut water has significant amounts of sucrose AKA table sugar. You remember I had said that some coconuts are sweeter than others? Maybe it depends on the strain and the state of maturation at the time of harvesting.
