Acrylic Hood

Unread post by syed.ali »

Ever since ammir showed me his acrylic hood, i was fascinated by them.

About 6 months back ammir was kind enough to guide me about the location to buy and how to make it.

I bought the stuff about 6-7 months back but wasn't able to complete in single attempt.

Tonight finally i was able to complete it :)

Disclaimer : please dont compare it with Ammir or Joy, i am still learning the art :). Also no comment on the tank, its not aquascape, its just planted tank as of now :

Nice DIY. Aamir is master in DIY, we will not compare your work with him.

Remove the cover paper underside of the hood. Otherwise it will not reflect the light.

Will remove the paper, but even then i will put section of aluminum foil.

In winters, holes is must. Otherwise vaporized water will be on the PLLs.

The PLL holders are screwed up, i got screws from computer spare guy and they jst enough thick to stay withing the sheet thickness, they are visible on the other side.

Right now to support the pll i have place glass below as one of the pll is already hangin out from its base so didnt want to take the risk of that dropping into the water.

you should have used white acrylic, this way you would have saved on a good reflector( much better than what you'll have with aluminium foil)
