LED lighting Setup from scratch

I bought LEDs, PCB, Drivers from the Akash Enterprise, 196 Lajpat Rai Market.

Went here today and picked up the LEDs. He did not have the drivers or lens

nice work. it encouraged me to try it as well.
just 2 questions:
1. do you have the address or number of the Kabadi store...baghirat palace is so big...
2. why do you need a pcb? you can't solder the wire directly to the led? never done this before, that's why this stupid question...

2) The PCB here serves two main function:
i) Works as a heat spreader, channelizing the heat generated by the leds to heat sink.
ii)serves as a contact point(soldering junction) along with electrical isolation of both the terminals

So here it start, everything is procured locally from bhagirath palace market or from Kabadi Shop

Kabadi means "junk" in Hindi. So what syed was saying is he picked up the heatsink from a junk dealer.

Yes, 3W Seoul LEDs. The retailer had no knowledge but the packing had the following info:
Part # is W42180-06 and the Bin Code is U1SYNJ. The website is seoulsemicon.com

Their own website did not have exact details but from other websites selling their products I understand that the colour temperature is 6300k and lumens is 91-100

Hi Khamba,

This looks like a very outdated stuff.
100 lumens at 3.8 W
About 25lumens per watt.

You ll be better off with CFL which is much much better 60lumens per watt. Or a normal Philips T5 can give you 80-90lumens per watt.
Don't waste much money unless its for experiment/play.

This could be the VERY REASON why sellers don't mention part number.

Khamba ji , I think you saw just half part. I got Belo info on mouser. The 100lm is when its run at 1w, and the lumens keep decreasing from there on as you keep increasing power.
Don't forget to see this product is being discontinued
