Unread post by VishaalDalal »

Hi,

I need some help, have managed to get some CPU fans and some SNPS fans, in some of these there are 3 and 4 wires.
1. Red, Blue, Black andYellow (Brand cooler master)
2. yelow, black, green. (Brand Intel)

can someone please tell me which coloured wire for Live and which for neutral.

the extra wire are generally as sense and control wires and used in sensing the temp. of cpu and controlling the fan speed using PWM signal.

in general the color code
Ground - Black
12v - Yellow/ red
Sense - Green
Control - Blue

for three wire fan:
BLACK: Negative
YELLOW: Positive
GREEN: sense

And just confirming that the Amp reeding of the adaptor should be equal or more than the total number of Ampere of the connected fans.

would suggest you to check if the fans are working or not before making any modification to the fan/wires

and i would suggest getting AC fans than these DC fans because AC fans are much more effective because of their speed takeca
