Re: Need help in setting up new tank.
1. Go for Sarpae tetra , black and white widow tetras.
2. If supply water is good, then use it.
3. Then dont go for soil. Just get some ferns, Anubias, mosses, Hygrophila pinnatifida and tie with rocks or woods.
4. Why do you want to put pebbles above soil?

Re: Need help in setting up new tank.
My wish is to keep stones, rock and wood with some plants. As a beginner I don't want to keep fully planted tank. So tetras would be good for this setup right?
And one more thing I have no idea on Cycle. What is that? Should I do that before I leave the fish in tank? If so how should I do?

Tetras will be good.
Cycling means growth of beneficial bacteria in tank. Need around 30-40days. But if you have a filter from running tank, cycle period can be bye pass. Add fishes atleast 15 days.

This is also referred to as nitrogen cycle, where in harmful nitrogenous waste is converted into less harmful nitrogenous compounds which can finally be consumed by plants or removed with water change.SCORPIO wrote:

For colorful fish you can go with mollies and guppies they come in many colour variants and are easily available.

I want to give my pair of gold fish back to store. How can I take them? It will take around 15 km(40 mins) to reach the place.
