Parambassis lala

Day before yesterday bought 9 Indian Glass Fish(Parambassis ranga), size 3-4cm, out of those today found only 4 and good news all of them are active, when I bought them I was not sure even about a single. Here are some PICs of those...soon will add some more...

I am feeding them normal dry food, but found that they are more interested on other food supply inside the tank...its quite old tank with continuous bio load, hope there wont be any issue about food, also I have planned to bring blood worm for them one or twice a week...

Partha, keep those alone otherwise they will be predators for small and tankmates. I have kept some wild caught specimen in past. Addition of some salt in the aquarium will be beneficial.

Yes these fishes are wide spread can be easily collected from most of the water body of india but rarely show up at aquarium shops.

They are still doing good. They are alone in my 2ftr tank...I have removed other fishes from the tank.

Nice fish, very refreshing to see people opting for such fish. Get some more of those lil guys if possible.

But what you have posted is parambassis lala. P. ranga is a slightly different fish. It is high bodied and colorful(called jewel glass fish).
