Bigger than a NANO

Unread post by santanu »

Hi all,i believe most of you have enjoyed my 7 gal Nano Reef viewtopic.php?f=35&t=568 now this time things get bigger than a NANO.

I am setting up a 23gal reef tank with a sump and most of the required equipments that go along with it,at the same time i will try to keep it as simple as possible and for most part cost effective. So here we go.

Just bought the glass and the bulkheads(tank nipple) to start off with the project.Everything was done today same day that i am posting.

Santanu, bottom drilling is a bad idea here, due to all the power failures etc. Better option would be to have the holes drilled on the top back and act as overflow pipes.

You are correct with all the power failures etc, however i found the bottom drilled to be more convenient and if my calculations are correct i should have a fail safe system.MY overflow system would look somewhat like this with the durso stand pipe design. http://www.webpages.uidaho.edu/~shawnc/ ... ndpipe.jpg
