Re: Please Critique
For me the depth of field could have been achieved more, while increasing the aperture may be around f8 or f9.
And also why you use ISO at 800 level? That will bring more noise in your picture!!!
Jib, can be the only one who can critique more!

Re: Please Critique
hmmm in the above pic, the softness is due to the inadequacy of light,
not necessary that u need an external flash, u can always use a makedo source of light that u shine on the subjct or an area of the tank and then wait for the subject to come under the said light
the best aperture for tank photography would always be f8 or more, as the depth of field is better and so is the sharpness especially with the working distance we have when working with fish in tanks
the other thing u could have done is , not to have cropped the snap so small, by keeping a little larger crop although the fish wouldn't be so big, but still u would have ended with a much sharper subject.
but believe me that pic, that u havce captured with less light, is quite a snap, as these are quite fast and very difficult to get them in focus at all, so i would say a great job done taking that pic
keep practicing, with different settings and do read up too, there are many techniques people have learned and discussed about on the web.
