DIY Aquarim Hood
Hello all,
I am sharing my Aquarium hood design which I have made for my 50G aquarium.
I am using 10mm MDF board instead of 19mm plywood for smooth finish. also added few additional cuts in the back for co2, canister filter pipes inlet/outlet.

So its a closed system? I would prefer a elevated open system.
Still excited to see the finishing. Thanks for share.

The top board with lights is not fixed. It can be removed for maintenance of aquarium.

Which way the hot air will pass & inlet for normal air? I think the Opening on the hood is not sufficient for passing air. If the Hot air cannot pass then as per me there will be a temperature rise in the water surface and which will be harmful for the plant. BTW it will be more specific if you post the TOP Elevation photo too.
But the hood is looking good.

Nice and neat project.
You need some open area so that air can be pass otherwise the temperature will be increase.

Re: DIY Aquarim Hood
Thank you all. I have covered the removable top as i mentioned. And as suggested, it should be open, I guess, this was the reason behind water temperature around or above 30 degree celsius. And if it is one of the reason behind few of my plants not thriving, it should be benefited by opening it.
I have not taken this into my consideration. Will update the changes.
