thanks guys.

asheesh: i used a 1800W heat gun, but i think any will do. they cost Rs500-Rs1000

abhi: eheim 2217

aamir: i have no idea how to make the real ada lily pipe (very broad opening). i have seen guys reproducing it with an acrylic pipe and a heat gun...but have no idea how they did it.

marsaiko: you could try the heat of the flame of a gas stove. this was my first attempt. it is possible, but it is very hard to control, and also hard to heat up the pipe from all sides

Exactly, I tried once, just with small piece and it got blisters, may be needs much much more expertise. Later I tried heating with Solder gun just below acralyic, that dint get blisters, but was very uneven heating :(

Juainco, regarding the wide opening, people first blow one end closed rod with stopper while heating, later do what you did, fill sand , close both ends then all the bends. Now that you have heat gun, should be very easy, unless you got any spare pipe left.

All the best bro :)

I suppose boiled water can also be use to bend the pipe.

no, hair dryer does not work. i tried, but even after 10 min heating it was not hot enough.
i did the cuts with an ordinary wood saw
