It us good to see someone take so much effort for his pets. Snails especially do not get this kind of care, cheap or expensive!

I am surprized to read that nail polish is a 'water proofing' coat, are u sure of that? Seems unlike to me, since they often have a lot of acetone. But i guess u might have researched this.... do elaborate.

I also sugggest that next time u get a clear nail polish, i am sure that would have fewer chemicals, it is sold by all major nail polish brands. I use it to coat silver belt buckles that i like a lot and don't want to have to polish again and again.

Thanks Wojtek :)

Well there are many signs of snail shell damage, if its a hairline then its due to improper diet which can be rectified with a change in diet..

The more serious one which is due to mishandling are -
Throwing away the package with quite a jerk, due to that sudden movement their shells got damaged to a very serious extent!!!
Piece of decoration falling up on them.
Etc.
What I am taking is of made my 3rd party or you can say fracture kind of :)

Well Romi, first thanks for the nice words :)

Yes I am pretty sure of it and its been tested outside by some snail experts to many times, rather than POP I could have used egg shells but I have gone with POP. Even with sticking the egg shell they used nail polish.

Well I asked the retailer and told him what I will be using it for and he has given me this, and one more thing you have to use many coats of the nail polish to ensure its water proof!!! :)

the snails are truly battered
great going there, trying to revive them.
but was the repair of the shell a necessary?

on a lighter note: i am still trying to imagine, Abhishek standing in one of those glittery and glossy shops, wearing a pink shorts and asking for nail polish :roll

Before few months, I saw some crabs on a big shop painted with nail polish and other colors. Now Abhishek colored snails. Wonderful idea for a colorful world in the aquarium. :roll

Abhishek Ji, I like your way to save these poor but beautiful creatures. :clap
