easy way out for ph value.

Is there any easy way out getting getting ph value rather than getting ph meter.

Litmus papers are best and cheaper way out. Only thing is with litmus paper one can get reading only in round figure like 6, 7. It is difficult to determine (mostly rely on your eyes) exact decimal values.

there are some cheap stickon glass PH meters that comes with a strip that lasts for couple of weeks to months, depends on the make. i have seen those back in US and are sometimes available in chennai with the people who deals in imported stuff. let me search the link for you.

seachem has one... i also saw one on internet few weeks back but not getting it

litmus just indicate if the solution is acidic or basic.

Best thing to measure pH is Electronic pH meter.

The electronic pH meters have to be re-calibrated every year, mostly. Hanna, a set owned by Tirtha, is one of them. Recalibration needs all sorts of chemical solutions, and sourcing them is a separate headache..

Truncheon pH meters are hard to find, and expensive. We are talking 150+ dollars here. They are a reliable brand that need no recalibration. The SeaChem pH meter can fail anytime and are not designed to last beyond a quarter or a bit more.

Wish i knew some really good and reliable pH test kit maker, Sera and Tetra are definitely not one of them! It is amazing that companies make stuff and supply them all over the world, and still have totally unreliable quality/technology. Sera's substrate and Brine Shrimp are a famous example!

Romi Ji, from Hanna Dealers you get the calibration liquid just one liquid is more than enough and its available at each and every hanna store

I am personally using it and calibration is easy

By Litmus paper i meant PH Strips which we used in labs. I use them to cross check my PH meter & PH test kit. All the results match.
