filteration for new tank

Unread post by Aquachem »

hi guys, Im planning to start redo my 200 LT tank that has been sitting idle for months now. could you guys help me rate a few eheim external filters. out of all that i found on the site i kind of like -

http://www.eheim.asia/prod_e_extfilter_eccopro.html.

i'm planning to go for 2 eccopro 130s to have good filteration and flexible circulation. It will be a planted tank but not very heavily this time. only planning for a good carpet and tall hairgrass-valis and maybe another type (fern perhaps) but not much cuz i'll have quite some drift woods in there. small schooling fish.

what happens to these filters when there is a power outage. is the cabinet strong and tight enough to help counteract the siphon process for the intake. would be great if anyone with good / bad experience regarding this could give me a heads-up.

trying to compare these 2 with 1 http://www.eheim.asia/prod_e_extfilter_pro2.html --? since its a 200 LT tank , i defintely am looking for 10X circulation. the prevalant tank that i have maintains a good circulation with the help of a wavemaker 3000l/h. along with which i have a DIY sump filter with 2700l/h powerhead but mainly the wavemaker does the circulation trick. Im planning to avoid the idea of keeping a wavemaker in the tank this time.
