what if we added few drops of prime or equivalent water conditioner to bind the ammonia in the bag...then proceed with drip acclimatisation.
yes have been reading about Prime and Amquel but where do we get these in India and what is a cheaper alternative.

Laxmi Nagar and eBay

received recent shipment of natives from Andrew Da.
1. C.Baboulti, C.Tiwari and white back.
2. Badis Badis females
3. Dario dario Females.

Method used (reason for this method was that the stock was in bags for a long time and I did not have time on my hands)
1. Emptied the shrimps and Dario in a bowl with the water.
2. Removed all the water (leaving only enough to keep the livestock in water) after 5 minutes.
3. Started drip of approx 5-6 DPS filled the bowl in 25 minutes.
4. dumped the stock in the tank and left it to god.

no casualties. :clp :clp :clp

I use this method too although I start very slow and then I speed up the drip rate every 5 minutes or so.

In addition I prefer to keep lights out or darken the room and let the fish settle in about overnight. Next day I let the light increase slowly by letting the morning light in through a window. For the next few days I don't switch on the lights suddenly, first the room lights and then the tank lights after about half an hour. Newly acquired fish tend to be very jumpy if the lights are switched on all of a sudden. I have seen gouramis and subordinate cichlids behave like this, whereas others like shoaling fish were more daring, quite surprising!

Acclimatisation is must for new coming livestock.

@ Abhi do we start another group order because it seems many people want natives now.

but the order should be placed and deliveries completed within the comming week if we are to beat the heat.

Start a thread and we can get the order delivered same way like last time by evening flight, so major heat should have dissipated. Lets gun for it and see how many people get in.
