Re: Grindal Worms
Neil, i do not undertand what species you are keeping. Grindal worms are not cultured submerged in water ! I understand this video was made under the microscope?
In that case, Vishaal is right, these are not grindal worms at all but microworms.
the size differnce between the speices is vast, i do not understand how the person who gave you these mistook a rabbit for a horse.. The size difference is similar.
I had sent u a PM. No response from you.

@neil
Do you have much larger worms too in that culture? I don't have grindals with me but I would say they appear to be about a millimeter thick and a centimeter long. Romi and others can confirm.
If yes then you have a mixed culture. If not then probably microworm alone. Still no harm done. You can use them as an excuse to breed fish!

Re: Grindal Worms
hi all,
that video is of a wet cocopeat taken under microscope
there are 100s of that big white long worms in that box
they climb to wall of dabba when moisture level is high
picked them using force-up washed in fresh water and started new culture already
thanks for guidance

NEIL

Re: Grindal Worms
Big white long worms sounds like grindals. Another thing I noticed is that the worms under the microscope don't show the characteristic S curve of nematodes although they are too fast to be sure.

@ Ishaan all the pictures are corrupted, cannot see a thing. Finally got culture of grindal worms from, thanks to Vishal. Now how to get it going, deepesh might be coming in a day or two but pictures would definitely help.
@ Romi have you got success in culturing grindals using cocopeat less media?

My method is simple, a box with 2cm layer of moist cocopeat, daily i sprinkle oats over them and i have loads of grindal worms now. Thats all
A collection of mistakes is called experience and experience is the key to success.
