live food(some questions)

What do we live food cultures keepers do when we have excess.

1. Do we feed excess to our fish.
2. Do we throw away the excess or start new cultures.
3. Do we store / preserve for emergency use.

I faced the same problem of times of plenty and then scarcity because of the fickle nature of the creatures that we culture.
so every day I started freezing the excess that was harvested, yesterday i used this home grown frozen live food mix(Grindals, Mites, Romifex) to my fish. THEY LOVE IT.

Does it not stink when you freeze?

nope not at all, and the fish love it, i use an old Cupamania dabba and keep adding washed layers of milk bag plastic so that I ave thin frozen biscuits rather than one thick unmanageable chunk.
