In cases you can also try using the spot heal tool to remove unwanted bubbles
There are a few who even go to the extent of switching of all motors and pumps in the tank to avoid bubbles and particles
sumer wrote:Bubbles are more prominent in this one. The lower part of the fish always remains darker. i dont know if it's their stomach or the shadow. I asked Mo (Mo Devlin is a great fish photographer. Find him on FB as "Aquamojo") and he suggested putting a white thick plastic sheet at the bottom of the tank as a reflector. He himself uses one more flash to illuminate the fish from lower side. But since I have very costly erios down there, I cant risk to put something on them. Any other suggestions on this ?
Will keeping the flash at an angle help ?
The lower part of the fish is usually dark due to shadow
What mo suggested will work as there will be light reflecting of the plastic, but if u don't want to do that you could try with a fill flash that will help

Keeping a flash at a tilted angle at the top will help, but then u will be shooting the fish while it is away from the front pane of the tank and that will cause soft images
sumer wrote:This one- Is there any trick to lower down the highlights from an area specific in a photo ?
The wood here looks too bright. I tried using the burn brush but it looks so artificial.
hmm you could use layers on photo shop
Personally I would increase the height of the flash from the surface of the tank, something that I got from Benjamin (amidae), his work has always been inspiring

Hola amigos,

In last couple of weeks I took some more photos and I think these are somewhat better than the ones that I took before.
Let me know what you guys think of them..
Jib- I made a light stand to hang my flash at a better height and see the results :) Thank you for all your help!
