Beautiful species of Betta for sure, but it takes time for the viewer to have a more sophisticated and evolved choice in Bettas!

They aren't all hybrid Betta splendens. They are more selective breeding than hybridization.

But even most tabletop bettas cannot compete with a blood red Betta Rutilans in breeding form.. other labyrinth fish like Parosphromenus deissneri are better than the most highly bred and outlandish half-moon champion betta. Nature wins in the end.

Betta splendens normally sold have such a muddled lineage that you cannot be sure what they belong to

At the end of the day any fish keeper would keep what he likes and what he can keep, hybrid or a wild type its a matter of choice

I personally think hybrids are great fish, they at least save the wilds from being poached from their habitats
