staetocranus causarius - new video added
These pics are very very old
I had a blast keeping these beauties
A brilliant riverine fish that lives in fast moving current
Mostly a bottom dweller
The male I had was close to 4.5" and the female was close to 2.5"
They both were got at the same size
Anyways here are some pics

Any dead fish can flow down the river but it takes a live one to swim back up stream.

Hey Jib, even I got hold of 4 here in SA. They are awesome species to watch, the jerky movements are awesome.

I loved the tiny hops the juvenile fish used to make
BTW there are also other species, Staetocranus tinanti
Known as the riverine brichardis and those are absolute beauties I had the luck to get one male and female but both the specimens didn't make it they starved themselves to death
See if you can get them and some for me too if you can
