Its quite simple…:) All the items will be displayed and would have a minimum bidding (reserve) price. Members willing to bid for any particular item have to write down their bids on a piece of paper and hand it to the auctioneer. At the end of the auction (i.e preferably at the end of the meet, the auctioneer will open all the chits and sell the items to their respective highest bidders, keeping in mind that the winning bids are above the reserve prices.nikhil_julka wrote:

Please guide me how to go about it
Suppose Member A quotes INR100 for the 18” cube offered by Bappada and Member B quotes INR150 and there are no other bids for the cube then the cube would be sold to Member B for INR150.
Suppose only one member bids for any particular item and his bid is above the minimum price then that particular item would be sold to that single bidder.
Bappada, Rajivji and Romi have quoted INR1 as their minimum bid price, but other members willing to auction their stuff can quote a higher price as per their choice.

Makes total sense.
Cant we have open bidding for items? will it be too loud and disturb the neighbourhood?
Can we keep select items for open bidding? I want a cube to use as an open terrarium for my Synogonium rayii....

I think open bidding will be more feasible for buyer and seller both.

Re: Delhi/NCR Aquarist Meet>> October 13, 2013.
In the interests of Bhabhi's peace of mind (vijjy's better half), we can choose a few items for open bidding, and the rest for this chit system suggested by Vijendra. This will keep us safe from the chance of a major disturbance, especially since we never know how many aquarists actually land up on the meeting. .... if there are say 30 people, it will be anyway too much to handle. If it is say less than 15 people or so, it will be ok.
So let Vijjy himself decide what items he would like to keep for chit bidding and what for open bidding. He is our host and benefactor this time round He must think it over.
