Aquarium Heater
Hi All,
I Have 4 feet freshwater tank (75 gallon) approx. & kindly suggest me on heater as cold weather is around.
I have seen Sera 300 watt heater with plastic cover to save it from cracking.
Also, is it good to buy two 150 watt heaters or 1 300 watt is good as it carries Two year warranty also.
Other good brands are also welcomed or Does Sobo is also reliable.
Hope for valuable suggestions.
Thanks & Regards,
Rahul Aggarwal

Re: Aquarium Heater
I would suggest you to buy 2 heaters of 150 watt each. In starting of winters one heater will be work perfectly but in extreme winter both will work.

Re: Aquarium Heater
I was told by LFS guy at laxmi Nagar Shop that one 300 Watt Heater of Sera @ 1800/- is enough for my tank size.
The 150 Watt Sera Make Heater@ 1600/- for one , so i have to spend 3200/- for two.
Is it worth spending so much on heater as Sera carry Two years of warranty.
Can any other good brand be suggested.
As these will be my First winter experience in hobby so kindly provide me with best info.
With the guidance of all friendz here i have installed Ehiem canister & feel it was wise decision as its value for money.
Thanks & Regards,

Re: Aquarium Heater
its always better to have a multiple heaters as it provides a uniform heating effect from two or more points, also if one of them suddenly stops functioning you will still have enough time to replace it without loosing your livestock.rahul2kcuteguy wrote:I was told by LFS guy at laxmi Nagar Shop that one 300 Watt Heater of Sera @ 1800/- is enough for my tank size.

sera and Rena no doubt offers one of the best heaters but there are some other reliable brands as well, Aquaone is one of them and at much lower price.

Re: Aquarium Heater
Sera heater is reliable, but really not that different to justify the price. I have had one for 3 years now. But in the past I had an Atman heater that worked great for 7 years and went down only when I broke its glass tube accidentally. I am going to try Aquaone next time. Cheap and reliable, I have heard. But I would get small ones instead of one large high wattage monster, as the members suggest.

Re: Aquarium Heater
Hi all,
Kindly advice that aquaone has good reviews so :
1. Should i buy two 150 watt or one 300 watt
2. It has 6 months warranty so if i need to replace it in next season than too it will be cheaper than Sera or ehiem.
Is it worth spending more on Big brands.
