Ya tank was just kept like that, Moss, BG stem plants twice trimmed, FG plants yet to establish. Just started pushing the tank to get the growth.

Keep the CO2 high and water cool, hope it will be ready before deadline.

Too much light, low CO2(probably), low plant mass to utilize the resources is the reason for algae.
For a tank like this you should have some floating plants/ temperory fast growers that cover up vacant spaces and compete with algae. They'll fight your battle and can be removed a couple of days prior to competition shot.
