Absolutely gorgeous pics.... Periopthalmodon septemradiatus....doesn't come from Sundarbans, but such is the dazzle, allowing him a good territory before moving him elswhere

Re: A serious venture: Sundarbans Biotope..update August
Four months post setup, the tank has matured quite a bit. There are 4 mangrove plants (each about 2 feet long) that has germinate from the seeds. I can spot few fiddlers, some Mudskippers and some Omnobrachius Zebra.
This is how the tank looks during the day

Night is a different mystery altogether....
the world underneath is scary a boat ride with search lights on

through maze of roots and muddy bottoms

If you want the mangroves to grow, it should be in direct sunlight. Rest is not a problem. For example, I am using lemon tree branches given by you to simulate mangrove roots. You can get the mud from sundarbans (by surface cargo), mudskippers etc are readily available. So go for itSCORPIO wrote:It is amazing.

Dada, sunlight is not a problem for me. I am already growing lilies in direct sunlight. But direct sunlight will not boil the fishes?bmukh wrote:it should be in direct sunlight. Rest is not a problem.
