Neil Sir, Lactobacillus will flourish only if there is a source of energy for them.... i.e. either lactose (from milk) or plain sugar
Also, if these substances are present, the pH fluctuations and rise will be drastic
Also, they will not help with breaking down ammonia or other wastes thus not competing with other bacteria at all.
So, I think, the introduction of any form of Lactobacilli will not be helpful and could actually harm the balance.

just made another one
Tank : 120 liter
filter size : 10 liter bucket
filer media :
river sand .. recon fiber and form
fish kept : a dozen red cap Oranda
monitoring ph in 12 hr interval

probiotics are widely used in aqua culture
specially in gold fish farms
I just started using it
can make matured tank instantly !!!
bacterial colony in 24 hrs
