After POLL and positive response, we will post the criteria for the Moderators/Team members. Eligible members can PM the request to concerned person. We will form a team of senior members to select the moderators.

We have already 7 mod and 1 admin already!!!

On an average we get
Topics per day: 3
Users per day: 1
Posts per topic: 16
Seriously do we need more?

It doesnt have any connection on your moderating ability and you knowledge.

The final count of Mods will be not cross the limit of 10. We are not removing anybody from the list. Posting by moderators is not an issue but they should visit forum regularly. According to my experience, Mods are lifeline of any forum. At present there are three forums in our country. In last 3-4 years the Mod team of one the biggest forum is inactive and forum is also not doing well. Before 3-4 year anytime you can see around 3-4 Mods online but now hardly any Mod appears online.

Now come on our own forum. Our performance is also going downward. You can see the same situation here. But now consider the time upto March, 2013. Daily post count was around 90+. Those days our Mod Team was in full form.

So now I can say that the success of forum depends on Moderators. Admin and others stands behind them.

Agree a bit to Abhishek, top 4-5posters are all staff members. Not sure how a newbie would feel looking at it. Also max topics started by staff.
So, if we are requesting new mods just to get more participation from him/her, its not worth it.

Mods can be as much off on situation as possible and take care all moderation stuff, even the little few minutes they login For in a week/day.


Secondly, in a different angle, I think we should obviously try to encourage by giving responsibility as well, which most school/college going members will love to do. So, why not change the staff every year? Rotate responsibilities and I think it will be much better, rather than stressing same one years together until they propose themselves out like above.

this can be a good idea because staff member or not, serious posters will continue giving there 100%.
