res turtle shell whitening
hey guys.. anyone have any idea about res shell turning white? any cure or meds?

There can be a number of reasons for 'shell whitening'.
It will be much easier to pin point the problem if you will post some pics.

hmmm...how long has this been going on? Also is the shell soft or hard to touch? (gently press it with your thumbnail to check)

what I remember my turtle's shell also change color during their juvi state , green to light green then again green but not this much light
what u feed , r u giving him sunlight bask, if u r not using uv light thn it is necessary.

The shell is hard. That is a good sign.
The white appearance of the shell can be due to mineral deposits. This can happen because of excessive hard water.
Put some vinegar on the shell and give it a scrub and be very gentle when you do that. And don't scrub off all the shell. It can stress the little guy.
Do this just as a test and scrub only a portion. If the white layer comes off it will be harmless mineral deposit. The rest will gradually wear off.

An hour or 2 in the morning or evening would be OK. Don't leave it unattended, one of my friend has lost his turtle to predators.
