Hey Guys.

How it was when it started, very less crypts, little tripartita , Rotala and bacopa.

After getting a little confidence on the growth of the plants, added few more crypts.

Tiny flowers of Tripartita:

Rotala leaves getting different shape, may be due to conversion from submerged state to emersed:

Crypt forest: Happy with the growth. Looking for few more setups with more hardy plants like this.. This pic is after a month and adding more crypts:

Cheers,

Karthik

PS: Requesting mods to shift this to the right section upon creation of new emersed section :)

Emersed setups are really interesting in terms of usage of soil, dry fertz, Humidity, maintenance, plant selection.

I have try few time, will say success 50/50, guess for me maintenance was the most interesting and vital factor.

Can you please let us know more about your maintenance and temperature.

Hi Partha da,

Yes, you said it. They're really interesting to keep and maintain. I don't do much with this setup, this is just using garden soil. I mist the plants every other day and most times it's covered with a a transparent plastic sheet. I keep it open for about an hour before misting. Seems they're liking it. And I deliberately chose all hardy plants. For misting I use aged aquarium water. :)

Cheers,

Karthik

Partha, Delhi is not a suitable area for Immersed setups due to dry weather round the year. We have always to fight with weather to run immersed setups and paludarium.

Small update.

The crypts are growing like crazy. Soon might need another tub for the taller ones.

Question: there's lot of water retention in the soil. Do you guys recommend a hole at the bottom of the tub? Will it drain too much water? Kindly advise.

Cheers,

Karthik

Not require. But if possible try to keep only a film of water not more than that.
