trimming reduces axial dominance thus making the plant more dense.

It helps in maintaining over all balance and look of tank. overgrowth will result in formation of multiple layers of carpet and will restrict light entry to lower levels. It will also act as site for debris to accumulate and thus can be a potential time bomb for algae infestation.

yeah, as above pics, theres uneven growth. in some part the carpet is thick and some other thin. it;s reduce overall beauty. i think this weekend will be trimmed. i'll post the update

and thanx for "time bomb algae" info. hands

update on diy co2 system that I use

the generator
Image

This system can last up to a month.

for stable output, I use 2 bottle, first bottle formulated now, than the second one is two weeks later. after a month, the first bottle re-formulated and after 6 weeks, the second bottle re-formulated, and so forth...

With this system, it can produce 1-5 bps co2. theres a trick to produce > 3 bps co2. First, you need 2 bottle generator, than close the valve of bottle one while the second bottle valve remain open. aftar 12 hours, close the valve of bottle 2 and open the valve of bottle 1. repeat the same thing for the next periode. yes its indeed complicated, but what can be expected from a simple co2 diy system like this ? whis

for lower output, just open all valve on each bottle

current output @ 1-2 bps on azoo ceramic diffuser

Beautiful tank! I can say that a person who has achieved this growth with DIY CO2 has put in some serious effort and dedication.
