Simply yes.
Also consider the solubility state of copper(atomic or by salt in sample?) in it. Then do a % by weight calculation from the given ratio in water volume of your tank. Or you want me to do calc let me know.

I thought it is safe. I am keeping shrimps in latarite from years.

Re: Is latrite actually shrimp safe
Here you go pal! Did some digging for you, and you owe me...
Its found in form of metallic Cu alone in laterite.
http://nanthavictor.com/2012/08/27/late ... cessing-2/
Cu literally doesn't react with water, but will do with oxygen+moisture. UNLike iron it doesn't corrode further.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper
Even if it does corrode to form CuO.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper(II)_oxide
Solubility of CuO
Solubility in water
insoluble
Solubility
soluble in ammonium chloride, potassium cyanide
insoluble in alcohol, ammonium hydroxide, ammonium carbonate
So literally no chance for Cu to affect the livestock.
Cheers! And merry Christmas!
