@aamir & scorpio: hmm, but it still makes the new water yellowish..I googled it, it isnt harmful for the fishes, but till how many more days this will continue ??

The problem is not with tanins but shall come once you change the water .. as this water with tannins is acdic and once you change water the PH will swing causing stress to fishes.

Rajeev already replied, you can keep changing the water frequently. Eventually your wood will season up and then it will stop this release.
Else you can take it out and dry it out for a period of more than 6 months or so and then try it back it.

@syed: ok..did a 50%WC change today..water looks better now..will do 50% WC on monday..

that wood u added, can u take a new and closer pic of it? it looks suspicious to me. too black too chunky. it might be something else.

last week all my shrimps died (native and RCS, all fully grown)..all of sudden, water temp was 28..only ghost shrimps survive
I changed the water 3 days back..
