My aquascape with Dirt Substrate
Hi Guys,
I decided to try my at the dirt substrate in my planted tank. So here's what I did:
Substrate: garden soil topped up with JBL Manado.
Plants: Various crypts, few bunches of tenellus, anubias petite, anubias barteri, few ferns (on the wood),
Pinnatifida (yet to show up in the background), Reinckii Mini, Ludwigia Palustris. Most plants harvested from my emersed setups.
Tank size: 36" x 15" x 15"
Lights: 72W PLL.
Filter: 1200LPH internal filter.
Co2: not yet. Planning to add it in a weeks' time.
Fertiliser dosage: yes, EI Method.
Fish: 12 pencil fish, one swordtail (desperate rehousing), few guppies.
I am planning to add more stems at the back and have ordered about 100 tenellus.
Hope you all like it.
Cheers,
Karthik

Re: My aquascape with Dirt Substrate
I just love the whole setup...with 100 Tenellus this should look amazing. Very balanced work.
I would suggest whenever you make a scape and get the final tough up done, try to level the front substrate, that will give a proper "frame" look.
All the best.

Thanks Partha da.. Never thought the tank can also look good to people's eyes. I tried levelling the substrate, however, since the flow is high, it keeps shifting. I need to do something about it.parthapratim22 wrote:I just love the whole setup...with 100 Tenellus this should look amazing. Very balanced work.

nice tank, i just love the simplicity. the tank is so clean that it took some time to realize that this was already filled (thanks to few patches on the front glass and fish)

Karthik, this is your best aquascape till now. Smart use of plants is making it more attractive.

Added tenellus, more to be added. Also added HM and Araguaia. Let's hope they all grow well:

i would have preferred something smaller like glosso or hair grass, tenellus IMO is overpowering the scape.
