As a regular visitor to the sanctuary, I wish to comment on two things :

1. A lot of people will find it far off. Even if one gets down at Huda City Centre, there is virtually no conveyance to take you to the sanctuary.

2. RIght next to the sanctuary is a Haryana Tourism setup which is quite pathetic serving tea and snacks at exorbitant rates. Other than that , there is virtually no facility available for any kind of refreshment.

Bangalore hobbyists meet continuously at Cubbon Park.Centrally located, public place etc etc. Lets choose something similar. I strongly recommend India Habitat Centre.

What is there to see in India Habitat Center?

India Habitat Center is on Lodhi Road, very near to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. It has a food court inside (the place is called Eatopia) where we can sit and have coffee etc while chatting up. There are also places to sit outside in the winter sun. There is nothing to see in IHC. It is a convention center which has regular plays, film shows etc. For those interested in wildlife, the great environmentalist George Schaller presented a lecture there sometime back on tiger conservtation. It was an honour for me to shake his hand and speak to him. If we wish , we can also book the auditorium at IHC and ask any one of our learned members to take us through an interesting topic which members can decide on.

I can very easily drop/guide anyone interested to and from CR Park , which is where I stay.

In Haryana, public transport is a huge problem. Always has been, the autowallahs have no meters, other transport is unreliable and arbitrary. So the bird sanctuary would be difficult for a meeting. India Habit Center, though not as interesting as a place with green cover, is still a very happening place, and a social hub for many people interested in subjects like nature and art.... so i feel that it would be a better choice.
