Most of us know how to made atomic bombs, but nobody of have ever made. After reading theory, it is very difficult to execute the instructions. I never got success in making any DIY project perfectly.

i'm sure that it would b good for the environment but not much sure about the second part. solar panels at this point of time are very expensive and i have not yet seen a 100% DIY on this topic.

marsaiko wrote: Juainco, regarding the wide opening, people first blow one end closed rod with stopper while heating, later do what you did, fill sand , close both ends then all the bends. Now that you have heat gun, should be very easy, unless you got any spare pipe left.
ok, got a new pipe...

closed one end, heated a small area and try to blow...man, you need the lungs of a horse...

1. attempt...

2.attempt...

several attempts later...

had to give up, consumed the whole pipe, was close to a lung collapse and pissed

the difficulties are:
- no chance to blow a bubble when the pipe is long. it only works in case the pipe is not longer than 10 inch.
maybe using an airpump would help, but don't have one.
- very small temperature range, between pipe is soft enough to blow a bubble and to hot, so pipe boils inside

i had one more or less good result, but the bubble wall was thin as paper...and i broke it while cutting...grrr

will try again...when i get new pipes...
