That was interesting to know...hmm I'm a little reluctant to hold them with hand. Last time i did so using tweezers. As far as i could tell there was no damage to sponges, neither do i think they are capable of doing them. I tried feeding a small one to my fish n he ate it in one scoop. He is doing well But still ive not done any extenisive testing to comment whether they are safe as fish food. In case they arent, they still do an awesome job in prevention of substrate compacting. I have old ADA substrate.
