Re: Are assassin snail predators?
Guys just remember two thing -
1. If you are weak you wont survive!!!
2. If you keep someone hungry possibly it will go after you or someone else!!!
Be it shrimps, snails, fishes whatever animals you name of.
Till date I have kept assassin snails with my higher grade crs/cbs also and not even a single casualty has happened. They even share the food together - I am repeating it once more
The simple reasons my shrimps are healthy and I provide assassin also good diet.
Now coming back to the assassination characteristics of assassins, here is my take-
1. If you have a weak shrimp/dying shrimp they can go after it if you don't provide them a healthy diet.
2. Same thing can be noticed when you don't provide protein appropriately in your shrimps diet, they go for their weak inmates and also freshly molted ones.
But certainly don't portray assassins on the line of fishes who finds, hunts and wipes shrimps population. And they do so because its a food for them.
For assassins shrimps are not the 1st food preference!!!!

Here sharing a link to a thread, where Jibran Bhai took some closeup of Assassin's -

Have a look at the images and also search in internet and tell me how they can go after a healthy shrimp? I also want to learn.

Re: Are assassin snail predators?
I guess most snails will find it difficult to go after a fast critter like a shrimp. Unless the shrimp was caught off guard moulting. Or the snail is a cone shell.
Maybe that's why assassin snails prey on other snails. They're slow killers.
