there are lot of options..u can catch shrimps from rivers.

fantastic shrimps, I wish they were readily available in delhi. Right now the prices are bomb

price here is the secondary factor, availability itself is the main problem.

the best beginner shrimp is glass shrimp. it is very common in water bodies all over our country. when the female is pregnant , she gets a green spot in her body and looks awesome, the egg mass there for you to see. then she carrries this egg mass on her legs, still green!

go to a live fish market, i used to go to one in MAthura, UP, when i was there. they sell live shrimp by 250 grams portions ("Pau"). i think they were the same shrimp! That was years ago, i never thought they did so well in tanks. u also go to a live fish market in punjab, u might see some!
