Fish suggestion for an outdoor tank.

Unread post by SCORPIO »

I am keeping an outdoor three footer tank on third floor in open area in direct sunlight. Tank have lots of plants and lillies. Moss is also growing in this tank. Now I want to introduce some fishes/invertebrates in this tank. Please consider one thing that I felt water warm when I put my finger in water at noon. Please suggest fishes which can be put in this tank.

I had a similar 2' tank at windowside which thrived in defused sunlight. But the problem is no fish actually made it through the hot summer. At the end i had to dismantle the set up due to this......I fear ur set up will have similar problem......

Still considering all the facts i'll suggest u to go for following set up

1. Channa set up : channa punctatus

2. colisa lalia biotope with puntius gelius and other natives

3. Paludarium with Anabas testudineus

Adorable fishes they r............. i just love them .... in restricted space climbing perch might prey upon small fishes , hence i'll suggest to go for Colisa lalia instead of perch .....and also Panchax , Esomus danricus (indian flying barb)

I just love this thread...... looking forward to a clusion on list of fishes as i might go for another low tech set up at outdoor.................

Rajivji , do post a pic of ur set up....feeling inspired
