Don't keep these guys with flowerhorns man. It just doesn't sound right.
And channas have different attitudes. One would allow tank mates another might kill it or another might be scared of it's tank mates.but Goodluck.

Re: Channa Bleheri
Hi sunny,
That tank size is fine for a pair of blehri or lalchengs at the max. The blue bengal gachua can also go if setup correctly. Apart from these no other channa.
From where are you getting Pulchara ?

They prefer insects, worms but do eat shrimps, pellets, prawns etc.Sunny Suri wrote:Thanks abhi, zafar from mumbai he has Channa assam, stewarti, Flame back, Auranti, Punctata, Gachua assam, Golden gachua and more but i dnt knw the name...and abhi in which habitat they live fine (food, filtration, temp)..??Abhi wrote:Hi sunny,

Slow moving water is required so a good filter with high amount of Bio filter media but slow water flow.
Lot of dense plants are required, with rocks and woods.
Very little water change preferably in 3-6 months
If water is getting fouled then more frequently but the less amount changed the better. This does not apply to the higher altitude stream channas. They require cool temps.
Temp requirement is not more than 25-26 in summers and should be minimum and preferred 18 degree in winters.
Preferred PH neutral or around 6.5
Tank should be covered as they are excellent jumpers.

Re: Channa Bleheri
FH are best kept alone
Gachuas or bleheris can be kept in that tank
Channas are not to be mixed with other fish especially not a fh

Conditions required for fish will depend on the type of fish you are getting
