POORBO GHAT-Closed 6-5-12

Unread post by parthapratim22 »

After just few months of experience, jumped to start a high voltage aquascape, with high slope, small tank, total FG plants, DIY substrate…and found the following scape. Started this tank long back in the month of June-July…still not able to manage all stuff…in my pocket to start plantation…

Name: Poorbo Ghat(taken from Eastern Ghat)
Tank: 8gal
Hardscape: Locally collected Rocks, from stone dealer.
Lighting:36*2 Philips pll
Substrate: Laterite, vermicompost, Humus, Cocopeat topped with golden sand/river sand
CO2: DIY
Flora: Thought of HC mainly and some patches of Hydrocolyte if affordable for me.
Fauna: Not thought of, might be some thread fin rainbow fish.

Early trial:

With laterite:

With golden sand:

See my aquascaping tool: Please dont laugh!!!

River sand/golden sand:

FTS:Sorry for bad PIC quality:

Could manage a small internal BOUY, love this small boy!!!

Last month manage to get this lightings:

After a quite number of comments of the sand grain size, gave two hours of labor and screened out small sized grain, did addition of some small stones to support ...Here is the Final PIC...

PICs taken with my X2-00 Nokia phone, 5mp...I love my phone

Hope you like the scape, and say ATB to me, as myself and my Best friends(Diatom, BGA) are going to try HC...

Some advice for the tank:

1. Adjust your woods as they falls in jungle.
2. Glosso/HC will be best for foreground.
3. Adjust some moss on some parts of rocks and prune it regularly.
4. In the mid back grow some staurogyne sp.
5. Make a boundary by around some rocks and grow there some hair grass. Strictly only some parts of rocks as we saw grass around the rocks naturally.

Best of luck for this aquascape.

1. You mean to say as we see tree trunk falls in the jungle,(like this http://toolonginthisplace.wordpress.com ... on-ear-th/ ) Please elaborate a little, never seriously thought of addition of wood in this scape, now thinking that can be a good idea.
2.HC
3.On the rocks or adjacent areas???
4.Taken into account.
5.Taken into account.

Thanks a lot Rajivji...

You are good going. Fallen small twigs will add a natural look in the aquarium
I mean adjacent ares on rocks so that moss will look as natural algae on the rock.

I have another query, how I will compensate with the surrounding, surrounding should look like a jungle,

More clearly if i say, I can imagine this fallen wood trunk on the mid path...I can do that, but if I want to give the whole scape a jungle look it will be super tough scape to handle...some think like this...(best example-tank inspiration: http://completeaquarium.blogspot.com/20 ... ungle.html , natural inspiration--http://lovingthebigisland.wordpress.com ... acgowan-4/ )

Not at all rejecting this idea, if you can simplify this idea...it will be super for me..
