find out your parameters first, before using peat or pH reducer.parthapratim22 wrote: pH, kH I have to test, dont have kit with me!!!

pH reducers are actually useless. To understand why they are useless , its important to understand the chemistry of water. Water has capability to buffer. This means that regardless of what you add to it , it tends to revert to the same pH as its source.
Try and identify what is the source of water in Govind Puri. I think I posted earlier - the chances are low that it is municipal water. In which case , peat can help reduce the kH. The only permanent solution is a deioniser which will reduce alkalinity.
You dont need any test kit to check gH and kH. Do the taps in your house have white deposits on them ? If yes , the water contains a lot of calcium and magnesium.

.you should be aware of the water parameters before trying to alter it .apuda2010 wrote:pH reducers are actually useless.
