chatuchak market.....written as jatujak and pronounced the same .....shortcut is jjmarket.....take skytrain to mohchit(closest station.)see this website also atlantis-jj.com very nice aquarium shop in chatuchak.you can see all kinds of pets from spider,lizards,squirrels,snakes,rabbits,hedgehogs,dogs,cats and everything on earth that can be kept as pets.i spend two half days there.it is a weekend market....so i always plan my holiday accordingly(weekend is reserved for bangkok and chatuchak only).majority of shops are open on friday sat. and sunday....so please check before going.pm me for any more details

Hi,

Chatuchak is the place you want to be... opp to the market there is JJ mall and few good shops have opened there. Shops for planted tank is Atlantis, you should get stuff from Dymax, gex, mosura, borneo,ada, etc etc. For marine there is Sea Sun Aquarium, Fish there is Allfishthailand and a 100 others sprung all accross. drift woods at the back side market towards the JJ mall entry. For Shrimps also there is shrim world, etc etc.

Hope the above helps. For dry stuff dont get disheartened if you dont find some of the stuff what you are looking for or may be quiet expensive. Live stock, Plants etc are cheap, Dry I dont think so, but yes more options than india for sure.

Let me assure you none of the shops there will give you quarantine certificates unless you are buy A grade Arowanas or Discus. Rest is more of a flea market. In good shops you can expect a discount of around 10 - 20% for others you can brgain basis the quantity.

I dont suggest briging in fish unless you have a very good contact who can bail you out incase something goes wrong. In our country you can always get away by paying some amount, but lets say if its a bad day...its a bad day ...and i have tasted a bad day on my last trip. So really dont suggest it. Plants are fine.
