Re: metal halide
Metal Helides are best for any type of aquarium but keep in mind that MH will boil the water in summers.
T5 lights will be best.
T5 lights will be best.

Why don't u wait a bit and then attend the Delhi LED expo coming ? Till make do with PLL or anyting that will do meanwhile.. LEDs do not have to be replaced after 6 months or a year due to falling lumen value, and MH, as Rajiv says, make the tank too hot in the summers.

Re: metal halide
I have all kind of lighting in my tanks (ex. Led), Mh is a good choice of light, maybe the best with the right bulb. With MH you'll have open top aq. and for good light angle you'l have to raise mh 30cm or more above the tank... So you'll have not to worry about the temperature.
Problem may be that one mh won't be enough for the aq. of 120cm lenght.

Re: metal halide
150 W for a tank that size is simply too much light.

I have 150w MH on tank 60cm x 40 cm x 40cm and it's just enough...

@Daweed - thats a roughly 25 US gallon tank. 150W over a 25 gallon is 6W of light per gallon.Is this a marine setup ?
