Re: help for DIY fan connections
the extra wire are generally as sense and control wires and used in sensing the temp. of cpu and controlling the fan speed using PWM signal.
in general the color code
Ground - Black
12v - Yellow/ red
Sense - Green
Control - Blue
for three wire fan:
BLACK: Negative
YELLOW: Positive
GREEN: sense

And just confirming that the Amp reeding of the adaptor should be equal or more than the total number of Ampere of the connected fans.

would suggest you to check if the fans are working or not before making any modification to the fan/wiresVishaalDalal wrote:thanks so I only connect the 2 wires. what about the others.sushant wrote:the extra wire are generally as sense and control wires and used in sensing the temp. of cpu and controlling the fan speed using PWM signal.

Re: help for DIY fan connections
and i would suggest getting AC fans than these DC fans because AC fans are much more effective because of their speed
A collection of mistakes is called experience and experience is the key to success.
