Syed ji, is there chance to check the voltage and current across the LED?

Hmmm.... Sai bhai might have a point there, Syedali. It is looking almost twice as bright as mine, and it is just a 10 watt LED floodlight. That yellow chip-like thing (no idea what it should be called, sorry guys) is exactly the same as mine. Do throw some light on this aspect ! (pun is accidental !)

Sorry i forgot to check the specs, but i will check it.

There is definitely difference in the quality in the Chinese made LED which is there in the Flood light, the number of the smaller sections/lamps within the LED is more than those present in chinese ver. I will definitely remember today to check and post it

I just now checked, there is a voltage drop of 10.5 V.
The driver is rated for 12 V and 1.5 Amp.
As per the http://ledcalculator.net/ calculation, i should put 3 ohm resistor.

I will find resistor and put it.

Take care, when it smokes
3 ohm X 1.5X 1.5 Amps= 6.75W, so better try getting high wattage resistor.

hope reply was not late

none the reply is not late, i have not being able to lay my hands on the resistors, I got 10 ohm one lying with me.

I actually though of doing another thing, how about putting 3 LEDs in series before 10 Watt led, what do you say, I was thinking of putting 3*1 watt Blue LED

if all the LEDs, including the one you are talking about are same( with same ratings) then this can be done, else there is a risk of lower rated LEDs getting fried.

Syed, your setup is 3 months old now, i guess...is the 10W led still working with the 12V/1.5A driver?
same brightness as in the beginning?
