Re: Raising Betta fry
This option is no doubt good, but will they eat the algae from the surface?
One more thing for betta is to dry some egg yolk, then crush it to a fine powder. Then you switch off the water circulation for half and hour and let the betta fry eat the egg yolk particles from the surface.

Re: Raising Betta fry
seems interesting idea , i love your pot with poly bag idea, but isnt it too smal and since there is no side view you wont be able to see whats happening inside . At the same time the getting the female out from this setup will definitely hurt the bubbles, as there is very lil space to move the net plus no side view to see where your female is hiding

Re: Raising Betta fry
I think large scale breeder can afford loosing a female betta but not smaller timers like us, thats why i point that fact.
The last pic is very common setup, the only issue here in delhi is the temperature, down south it will definately work for you, instead of using the plastic setup use cemented container, they will keep water cooler.
This thread is instigating my betta love again

Re: Raising Betta fry
tanks are illuminated from bottom with white led so that we can see the breeding tube and abdomen etc..
A pvc mesh guard cage for female in breeding tank added to this basic hobby kit
