Jack's grotto !!!!
Greetings,
After lots of up and downs in my tanks finally it seems life is bit settled, finally shutting all the tanks at the house and moving to old place where we use to live. I dont wanna transfer my 6 footer as this ll be too much of hassle so planned to make a new tank for marine and get my 2 footer planted tank. i will not be talking about the planted side of my tank as its pretty simple i just need to move from one house to another, here i will be talking about the marine tank that i am planning. waiting for your suggestions and replies.
Introduction : this name Jacks Grotto is inspired by the Blue Grotto located in Capri, Italy.
my plans are to start with the mixture of softies and LPS and than eventually move on to SPS reef tank, collecting different varieties of Zoas is my plan as of now.
After fighting with lots of noise in overflow in my old tanks and problems faced, read a lot and finally thought and planned this soo far
System Objective : End result with a mixed reef with Flame Angel and Mandarin Fish
System Type : Mixed Reef
System Controlled : by Reef Angel Controller
Planning Started on Date : 28th August 2013
Display Tank : 36 X 24 X 16 , making bean animal external weir, to reduce the noise. 2 nos of plumbing of 1.5 inch to feed sump and 1 no of 1.5 inch plumbing to seed display tank.
Display Light : Kessil A350W
Stand : will make an iron stand and ll cover it with wood, hope this turn out to be good (the only thing i fear about)
Hood : open hood, will plan something on how to hang lights plans are to fabricate something
Sump : 24 X 15 X 18, but still confused want to go for smaller size than this something like 18 X 15 X 18
Refugium : center partition of sump with macro algae and seeded with copepods your views of DSB ??
Refugium Light : 10 W cheap LED
Water : Coral Salt Pro with weekly 30 Ltr water change
Display water circulation : have 3 Jebaos WP 40, will use 1 for the display and eventually plans are to upgrade to Vortech MP 40
Return Pump : 1 nos of 3000 LHP
Skimmer : Reef Octopus XP - 1000 INT ordered today shall be here by weekend
Evaporation : ATO with Reef Angel controller and Water Level Module
Storage Tank : 18 X 6 X 15
any information left ??
any one which is the easiest software to make the sketches ?? i have made everything on paper but gave to LFS for his reference

I personally don't think its possible, skimmer that add up to be over-rated for your tank it would not do any harm at all.If anything, your tank getting more oxygen which never a bad thing.
Any way if you are going to sell your XP5000 please pm me,i forgot your cont nos.

Re: Jack's grotto !!!!
It will be overkill
I read a lot and than came to decicion that i need a smaller skimmer for the tank
Corals also needs some bad nutrients if not much
The bigger the skimmer the bigger the capacity to remove nitrates n phosphates soo this will make my system ultra low nutrient system (ULNS)
UNLS is just good if i go the sps way which i am not planning
I am more likely to keep softies
Naah i am not planning to sell anything
Will start the big tank anytime i go back to that house
