Yes, even I had that combo of dollars and Oscars I believe in your words.

Coming to the point, get some sinking food for your cats, there are special ones just made for them. Put catfish food only after the middle and top layer fish are fed. Your assumption is right of being scavengers and must have been living on messy leftovers.

BTW on a lighter note, when you are confident on your point and words don't work, do it with pictures and videos. I am not exp in fish but been bit long on forums.

I did you read that article
It is a write up by a hobbyist and not the results of a study

Anyways neither am I with any scientific background regarding partial digestion by Oscars

I have never before read earlier than this article that Oscars partially digest food

Although I've seen many fish try to eat fish poo as almost all fish are opportunistic feeders so they try anything to check if its food

I've kept many types of silver dollars and I've never seen any of them eat poo, never

Its nice suggestion Mr. Sai kumar & shows your experience on forum.
But i m confident on my point as its my Silver dollar eats it & never spits it out as other Chiclids do (they spit after taking in)
Anyways kindly advice best foods for FF catfish.
Well, Jibran Bhai infact i saw a big catfish on one of your thread & really inspired to keep these lovely creatures.
Kindly guide me up on best ways to feed & take care of them if possible.
Thanks & Regards,

One in a tank would be a good choice
If you keep more they would constantly fight in a small tank

If you are planning for more than one plan for a group.of 5-6 that would disperse the aggression

Mine is 4 feet tank though but 5-6 featherfin would be too much & right now no plans to upgrade to bigger tank.
Do i have any other option for bottom dweller with FF catfish .
Sucker cat i dont wanna put in my tank.
Thanks & Regards,

stripped and spotted raphaels
agamyxis pectinifrons and platydoras armatulus are good bottom dwellers but are very docile compared to the synodontis species

But dont stripped or spotted raphaels keeps hidden mostly in day time.
Does FF catfishes like to have driftwood in tank or they are not concerned.

Synodintis will also hide most if the day
But will come out for food

Yes they would require rock caves or driftwood to hide
